Seth

Seth is an artist based in Maidenhead, Berkshire. In the 1980s he studied Fine Art and Photography at the Royal Berkshire School of Art and then went on to focus the skills acquired within his family business of restoring, rebuilding, refurbishing, painting and operating vintage fairground rides, attractions and vehicles. This has led to Seth becoming an expert in specialised and traditional skills including many sought after painting techniques, such as signwriting, gilding, coach painting, lining and marbling.

Of his painting style, Seth says “I have a respect for traditional methods of doing things and find inspiration in the beauty and the complexity of the natural world, so I try to incorporate these things into my artwork. I’ve lived a very full and colourful life which is reflected in my work”. Seth’s work is usually large and generally colourful, reflecting and utilising the skills he has mastered over his career.
